If you've been experiencing weird dreams lately, you're not the only one. Some of your favorite movie characters are not only stars of their show, but experience peculiar dreams where they're the main attraction. Here is a list of some of the most famous dream sequences.
The Wizard of Oz
After getting caught in a storm, Dorothy returns home only to find that the rest of her family is already in the cellar. A tornado approaches her home and Dorothy is left with just her dog, Toto. Frantic, Dorothy hits her head and wakes up in the Land of Oz. The end of the movie leaves us wondering if Dorothy's adventure was in fact a dream or reality.
Alice in Wonderland
Perhaps one of the most classic dream sequences, Alice in Wonderland is much like Dorothy's encounter with Oz. After chasing a rabbit and watching it disappear into a rabbit hole, young Alice follows the creature, but little does she know the hole leads to Wonderland. A journey any child would be ecstatic to take, Alice wakes up contemplating if she actually experienced an excursion to Wonderland or not.
Inception
A movie solely devoted to the formation of dreams, Dom Cobb brings together a team of the most talented people to reach into others' deepest secrets and desires while they are in a dream state. After being asked to help plant an idea in a businessman's head, Dom Cobb accepts the offer and wanders around others' dreams to hide his involvement in the formation of this idea. Based on the concept of a dream inside a dream several times over, one of the most intricate movies based on dreams was created.
The Big Lebowski
As odd as this opening scene is, with bowling shoes, viking costumes, and giant scissors, the dream scene in The Big Lebowski is one of the most known since the movie was released in 1998. Perhaps it's the uniqueness of the dream or the rest of the movie, but many have come to recognize this bizarre dream sequence.
