Many wish they could enjoy a good night’s rest but their ability to do so is hampered by the fact that a sleep disorder disrupts their goal. Sleep disorders are not minor problems as they can prove to be a tremendous drain on a person’s overall health. When you are not getting the proper or adequate amount of sleep, your mind and body wear down. This is true no matter what type of sleeping disorder you suffer from.
There are upwards of 80 different types of sleep disorders. The following brief list displays some of the more common ones.
Insomnia
Insomnia is likely the most common sleep disorder people deal with. This condition revolves around the inability to fall asleep. Insomnia can persist for weeks, months, and even years if not properly treated. Those unable to sleep can find themselves incredibly drained during their waking hours which would be a common result of not recuperating during the evening when such rest is vital.
Restless Leg Syndrome
Restless Leg Syndrome is a very common disorder that is often overlooked. This condition entails dealing with problematic and painful sensations in the legs. Many will shake or move their legs to reduce the impact of the pain. This, in turn, makes it difficult to fall asleep.
Sleep Apnea
Sleep apnea can be considered among the most dangerous of all sleep disorders. This condition revolves around the blockage of the aid passageway making it difficult for a person to breathe when sleeping. Fatalities have been associated with this condition.
Narcolepsy
Narcolepsy can be considered the inverse of insomnia. This condition revolves around the inability to stay awake during the day. Those who suffer from narcolepsy can often fall asleep without warning at very odd times.
Again, there are many more sleep disorders. The four listed herein are among the most commonly suffered by many.
