Boyfriend killed…

boyfriend killedDream:  In my dream my boyfriend was shot and killed. It’s the third time dreaming it. It was on the street but I don’t know where we are, and I see cop cars everywhere. I see him dead.

DreamsMaster: Your dreaming mind is definitely trying to get your attention, based on the fact that you’ve had the dream three times and it’s making a strong emotional impact.

The first thing you want to look at is the literal context. Do you sense your boyfriend is involved in some type of dangerous activity that could result in violent action toward him? If so, the dream may be a warning, and I strongly encourage you to talk to him about it to see if he can change course.

If the literal angle doesn’t fit, then look for symbolism. For example, seeing him dead could mean that your image of him has died, that he’s no longer the person you initially thought he was. The cops or police in the dream could represent your conscience, the part of you that knows right from wrong.

Think back to what was on your mind the night(s) you had this dream. If you can’t recall, then the next time you have the dream, write it down along with what happened or what was on your mind the day or night before. Soon a trend will become clear, and you’ll know what the message is and what action you need to take.

Housekeeper having sex…

Housekeeper having sexDream:  I dreamt that a housekeeper was having sex with my husband.

DreamsMaster:  From the way you phrased it, I’m guessing this housekeeper is not someone you know. If this is the case, then it’s likely this dream character represents an aspect of yourself.

How would you describe this housekeeper? What does a housekeeper represent to you? To me, a housekeeper represents someone in service to someone else. If it were my dream, I might be feeling as if it were my obligation to service my husband sexually. (Remember, this is only my own projection onto your dream, which I’m merely offering as a possible interpretation for your consideration.)

If this line of interpretation doesn’t fit for you, perhaps the housekeeper does not represent an aspect of you, but instead represents another person in your life. Is there anyone you suspect has been having an intimate connection with your husband? Another important thing to consider is what feelings were evoked for you in the dream. Were you angry? Interested? Disinterested?

One more thought that comes to mind is whether or not you have been feeling connected with your husband recently. Whether the housekeeper in the dream represents you or someone else, either way the dream suggests a lack of intimacy between you and your husband. The physical act of sex may be occurring, but is it intimacy?

Screwing around…

dreams about sex, dream symbolism, screwing aroundDream:  In my dream, I have a penis growing out of my back. My husband gets on top of me and starts having sex.

DreamsMaster:  I think your inner detective is confirming your suspicion:  your husband is screwing around behind your back.  I strongly suggest you confront this in your waking world. This is an excellent example of a dream using a metaphor to deliver a wake-up call!

What does a snake mean…

snake dreams, dream symbol, snake in the grass, what does a snake meanDream:  What does it mean when you dream about snakes?

DreamsMaster:  A snake often represents one not to be trusted, as depicted by the expression “a snake in the grass” when describing someone slithering about ready to strike. Is there someone in your life you feel threatened by in this way?

A snake may also be a symbol of transformation, as in the shedding of one’s skin.

What a snake means in any given dream depends upon the dreamer’s personal association to snakes, combined with the events and feelings in the dream and in the dreamer’s waking world.

For example, let’s say a person likes snakes and even has one as a pet. A snake in that person’s dream may mean something quite different from a snake in another person’s dream, who is never around snakes and very much fears them.

If you’d like help interpreting a specific dream about snakes, here are some ideas on how to get started (read more about this on the Dream Interpretation pages):

1) Write out the dream in detail, then look for the general dream theme (for example, someone is doing something to someone else).

2) In regards to the snake itself, write down some adjectives that come to mind when you think of a snake.

3) Try this: role-play being the snake and interview yourself! Ask questions such as, “Who are you?” and “What is your purpose here?” Some very interesting aha! moments can come out of role-playing your symbols!

A change is taking place, some painful growth, as in a snake during the shedding of its skin. It is difficult to adjust because I do not know who is adjusting; I am no longer that old person and not yet the new.

Bit by a snake…

Bit by a snakeDream:  I had a dream that I was at a friend’s house. She left this snake in a large see through cylinder and it managed to get out. I ran to the back door. It was coming towards me. I was afraid. But something told me not to be afraid. I peeked around the corner and it bit me in the forearm.

DreamsMaster:  A number of interesting possibilities with this dream. Some things to consider…

Is the friend in the dream someone you know and trust in your waking world? A snake in a dream often represents something or someone not to be trusted.

In this dream, you were aware of the danger (see-through cylinder), you started to run away from it, you chose not to be afraid, and you then got bit.

Looking at this sequence of events, do you recognize a common thread in your waking life currently? In other words, is there an obvious danger or untrustworthy individual in your environment that you’re choosing to ignore, but may be putting yourself at risk by doing so?

It’s a positive sign that you were able to face the fear and take a peek at the unknown. Keep your eyes open.
